About this role

Zigma is seeking a highly experienced and strategic executive to fill the role of Head of Zigma Gas, based in Lagos or the Niger Delta. This executive leadership position holds full accountability for the profit and loss (P&L) of the Zigma Gas business unit. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the Nigerian midstream gas sector, with a proven track record of steering complex gas projects from their current development stages through to operational plant startup and first gas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the P&L for the Zigma Gas business unit entirely.
  • Lead NGFCP project development from its current stage through to first gas.
  • Negotiate gas supply agreements directly with upstream asset owners.
  • Secure vital offtake agreements for LPG, CNG, and other related products.
  • Manage key regulatory relationships, specifically with the NUPRC and other relevant authorities.
  • Lead community engagement initiatives to obtain and maintain the necessary social licence.
  • Work collaboratively with the CIO to structure project financing and attract potential investors.
  • Oversee all engineering and construction activities, utilizing support from the internal Engineering team.
  • Develop a comprehensive operations readiness plan to ensure seamless plant startup.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of active experience in the oil & gas industry, with significant exposure to midstream and gas operations.
  • Proven track record of developing and successfully delivering gas projects within Nigeria.
  • Strong, thorough understanding of the NGFCP framework and all associated regulatory requirements.
  • Direct experience working with gas processing, LPG, CNG, or power generation infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to negotiate high-stakes commercial agreements effectively.
  • Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, including a strong background in community relations.
  • An engineering background is highly preferred, specifically in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
