About this role

Reliance Health is seeking a full-time, remote Finance Associate based in Lagos, Nigeria. The primary focus of this role is to support the company's financial operations, reporting processes, and transaction workflows. As an analytical and detail-oriented professional, you will be responsible for handling invoice and payment processing, performing complex bank and intercompany reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. This position plays a critical part in maintaining strict internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks like GAAP or IFRS, and driving operational efficiency across the organization's emerging market healthcare networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payment requests accurately while executing payment runs in alignment with company policies and cash flow schedules.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, review credit card transactions, and resolve discrepancies across intercompany accounts, premium collections, claims payments, and provider settlements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports—including balance sheets and income statements—by processing journal entries, tracking accruals, and compiling supporting schedules.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, documentation, and data entries within accounting repositories to support tax filings, internal reviews, and statutory compliance.
  • Support internal and external audit operations by assembling requested documentation and providing clear explanations to auditing teams.
  • Flag unusual transactions or policy violations to senior finance team members while answering internal inquiries regarding payment statuses, invoices, and account balances.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Must have completed NYSC or possess a valid exemption letter.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in accounting, finance, or a similar corporate role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically featuring capabilities in formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, and advanced data manipulation.
  • Solid basic understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and the core components of the financial close process.
  • High attention to detail with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, insurance, or fintech, familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite), exposure to claims/premium reconciliations, or progress toward ICAN/ACCA certifications is highly advantageous.

Benefits:

  • Work within a flexible, remote-first environment from anywhere while staying connected to a collaborative team.
  • Competitive salary benchmarked against industry standards along with premium health insurance for you and your family.
  • Access to an unlimited leave policy to support work-life balance and personal well-being.
  • Dedicated learning and development allowance alongside structural growth opportunities and mentorship to elevate your career.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in an inclusive work culture dedicated to transforming customer experiences and shaping healthcare innovation.
