Project Manager - Nigeria

About this role

Upstream, a global leader in mobile marketing automation and digital service innovation, is recruiting a full-time Project Manager based in Lagos, Nigeria on a hybrid work structure. Reporting directly to the SVP Operations, this role is responsible for planning, executing, and tracking complex mobile marketing projects delivered to Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) using Upstream's internal tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Plan, implement, and track mobile marketing projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery that hits agreed-upon launch dates.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate internal resources, write clear technical briefs for Engineering, Operations, and Support teams, and maintain a unified team dynamic.

  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between the client and Upstream to manage project expectations, define specifications, and maintain third-party relationships.

  • Risk & Documentation: Monitor progress, escalate operational bottlenecks to key leadership roles, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements Experience & Domain Knowledge

  • Tenure: 3–5 years of professional experience in project management or consulting.

  • Sector Background: Experience operating within either the telecommunications or information technology (IT) sectors.

  • Technical Acumen: Solid background with an understanding of or hands-on experience in mobile, web, and software development technologies.

Education & Certifications

  • Degree: University degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Professional Credentials: PMP or PRINCE2 certifications are considered a strong asset.

  • Languages: Fluency in written and verbal English is required. Additional proficiency in French is a plus.
