Fibre Engineer

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, splice, and test fibre optic cables.

• Conduct fibre optic cable testing using OTDR, power meters, and other testing equipment.

• Identify and troubleshoot fibre faults, signal loss, and connectivity issues.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fibre optic infrastructure.

• Carry out fibre route surveys and assist with network planning and deployment.

• Monitor fibre network performance and resolve technical issues promptly.

• Ensure all fibre installations comply with company standards and safety procedures.

• Respond to customer and network-related fibre faults when required.

Qualifications

• HND / B.Sc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Practical experience in fibre optic installation and maintenance.

• Knowledge of fibre splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Ability to use OTDR, optical power meter, fusion splicer, and related tools.

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Willingness to work on-site and respond to emergency network faults when required.
