Job Summary

The Chief Accountant will oversee the hotel's accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and sound cash-flow management.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports and statements
• Oversee day-to-day hotel accounting operations
• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation
• Manage and utilize hotel accounting/financial management software
• Conduct inventory and financial audits
• Oversee payroll processing and related accounting records
• Ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements
• Monitor budgets, expenses, and financial controls
• Manage and monitor cash flow
• Reconcile accounts and investigate financial discrepancies
• Provide financial reports and insights to management
• Support management in financial planning and decision-making

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years' relevant accounting experience, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and hotel accounting operations
• Practical experience with accounting software
• Knowledge of payroll processing, taxation, budgeting, auditing, and cash-flow management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Relevant accounting qualification/professional certification is an advantage
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of financial integrity
