Role Overview
A detail-oriented Accounts Officer is needed to manage day-to-day accounting and financial activities, maintaining accurate financial records, handling banking transactions and payments, and supporting financial reporting while ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements. The role resumes within one week of offer.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers, journals and supporting documentation
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping covering income, expenses, payments and receipts
- Manage accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Liaise with banks on transfers, payment issues, documentation and other account matters
- Prepare payment schedules and process approved payments to vendors and service providers
- Monitor cash flow, bank balances and expenditure against approved budgets, highlighting variances
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and maintain schedules for accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
- Support statutory remittances, tax documentation, budgeting and audit exercises
- Ensure proper documentation, internal financial controls and safekeeping of financial records
- BSc in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or a closely related discipline
- ACA qualification (required)
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant professional experience in accounting or finance
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, financial reporting, bank reconciliation and general accounting principles
- Good understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/financial management software
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with high accuracy, integrity and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills; able to work independently and meet strict deadlines
