Job Summary
Our client, a growing advisory firm providing financial and strategic advisory services to clients across Africa and internationally, is seeking an experienced Head of Finance & Operations to provide strategic and hands-on leadership across finance, treasury, compliance, and business operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening the company's financial management framework, ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance, optimizing cash flow and working capital, and providing financial insights that support business growth and executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company's finance function, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, taxation, and compliance.
- Prepare and oversee management accounts, financial statements, board reports, tax filings, and regulatory returns.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and strategic financial planning.
- Manage treasury, liquidity, cash flow, and working capital effectively.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support investment, expansion, pricing, and profitability decisions.
- Drive cost optimization and strengthen financial processes and internal controls.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, banks, tax authorities, and other key financial stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Oversee administrative and business operations to ensure efficient day-to-day functioning.
- Provide leadership and guidance to finance and administrative teams.
- Support the Executive Management team with financial and operational insights for strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, treasury, or financial management, with significant leadership experience.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience preparing management accounts, board reports, and audited financial statements.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in cash flow, working capital, and cost management.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and sound judgement.
