Junior Accounting Officer
About this role
The M-W Nuts Company is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accounting Officer to support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with reconciliations, and contribute to financial reporting and audit processes.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and organize invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and financial records
- Record and update financial transactions accurately in the accounting system
- Assist with financial audits and internal audit activities
- Reconcile accounting records with company systems and software
- Process routine expenses and prepare payment requests
- Assist with bank, cash, and petty cash reconciliations
- Support monthly financial reporting and account reconciliations
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on supporting documents
- Verify inventory and fixed asset records when required
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an accounting support role
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks, ERP systems, or other accounting software is an added advantage
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory remittances is an added advantage
