Platform & Backend Orchestration Engineer

About the Role

Escrow-Tech is hiring a Platform and Backend Orchestration Engineer to own the persistent AfWS service layer that turns compiler, model, and power-control capabilities into secure customer-facing workflows. This is a local role in Lagos, created to retain platform knowledge after foreign contractors exit

Key Responsibilities

• Build the One-Click API, job state machine, queues, artefact metadata, placement, and result handling
• Integrate conversion planner, AI conversion, K3 deployment, and validation stages
• Build SteadGrid service integration for node control, real-time state, audit, and telemetry, and expose controlled interfaces for external agents such as FlopsFlex
• Implement RBAC, tenant isolation, audit logging, idempotency, retry, timeout, and failure states
• Build admin and support tooling and operational dashboards
• Integrate with GOCLIMS and AfWS platform boundaries as approved (no compiler logic coupling)
• Own post-launch incident fixes, workflow evolution, and handover artefacts
• Maintain API documentation, runbooks, and automated tests

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience
• Production-strength proficiency in Python, Go, TypeScript, Java, and C, C++ or Rust
• Strong experience with APIs, async job orchestration, queues, databases, containers, CI/CD, and observability
• Linux and infrastructure integration experience, including Redfish, BMC, and device APIs
• Security-minded, multi-tenant service design
• Strong ownership and documentation habits, with the ability to quickly absorb contractor knowledge

Role Details

• Employment type: Permanent employee (monthly salary)
• Start date: by 15 October 2026
• Six-month probation recommended, with milestones: service skeleton (week 2), integrated alpha (week 4), RC1 (week 6), production service (week 8)
• Reports to the CTO or a designated software lead, working with the Principal Compiler Architect and the Hardware Platform Architect on hardware-management APIs
