About this role
BBC Media Action—the international charity arm of the BBC focused on media-driven social change—is recruiting a Project Manager - Partnerships (Nigeria) for an ongoing multi-component Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) programme on reproductive health and family planning in Northern Nigeria. This project management role focuses on inter-agency partner coordination, tracking workplans, facilitating government/community stakeholder convenings, managing risks, and ensuring donor compliance.

Partner & Stakeholder Coordination: Manage daily relationships with implementing partners, government bodies, and community actors across Northern Nigeria; convene and facilitate regular partner meetings, workshops, and review sessions.

Project Tracking & Delivery: Maintain workplans, activity sequences, and dependency timelines across all partners; identify delivery bottlenecks early and implement mitigation strategies with the Project Director.

Compliance & Partnership Governance: Monitor partner performance against contract timelines; enforce compliance with BBC Media Action and donor guidelines (including safeguarding, data privacy, and branding policies).

Reporting & Information Management: Coordinate partner inputs for donor progress reports, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) data collection, financial audits, and lessons-learned documentation.

Project Management Expertise: Proven track record in project management, workplanning, risk identification, and deliverable tracking.

Partnership & Public Health Experience: Significant experience managing multi-stakeholder partnerships in development, media, SBCC, or public health sectors—working directly with Nigerian government agencies and community structures.

Facilitation & Negotiation: Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops, bring diverse organizations together, manage conflict, and hold external partners accountable for deliverables.

Language & Cultural Context: Fluency in English and Hausa is required, along with a deep understanding of the Northern Nigerian media, community, and socio-cultural landscape.
