Job Description
The Chief Finance Officer will manage and handle the financial activities and reports of the company. The ideal candidate must be currently working with a bank or financial services firm and possess a deep understanding of financial modeling, with the ability to simplify complex financial data for non-finance stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and present insights to the executive team
- Analyze market trends and competitor data to identify expansion or cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations while maintaining robust internal controls
- Oversee accounting, accounts payable and receivable teams and foster professional development
- Monitor liquidity and manage investment strategies to optimize company capital
- Develop long-term financial plans, budgets and forecasts aligned with corporate objectives
- Develop and enhance internal reporting processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with a 2:1 in Accounting or Finance
- 6+ years of continuous finance experience, including 2 years in a managerial position within banking or the financial sector
- Relevant professional qualification: ICAN or ACCA
- Must currently be working with a financial or banking institution
- Experience building financial models and driving business decision support
- Advanced business and commercial acumen with a proven record of solving complex problems with data
- Skillful financial presentation, professional report preparation, and strong Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook use
- Master's degree in accounting or finance is an added advantage
- Knowledge of BankOne core accounting application is an added advantage
