Head of Operations (Technical)

Techie Planet is hiring a Head of Operations (Technical), reporting to the CEO. You will make sure projects are scoped properly, documented well and delivered on time, and that the engine behind them (hiring, processes and tools) runs smoothly. You will coordinate the delivery team from day one, with direct reports added as the company grows

You do not need to write production code, but you must understand software and data projects well enough to write requirements, evaluate results, brainstorm and review what the engineering team delivers

Job Details

• Reports to: CEO

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery with clients, analysing their business processes and problems and translating them into functional and technical requirements
• Write requirements documents, process flows, specifications and user stories that engineers can build from
• Support scoping, including effort estimates, statements of work and assessing change requests so that scope changes are controlled and priced
• Own technical recruitment end-to-end: define role requirements, run the process, interview alongside the team and close hires
• Run onboarding and offboarding

Requirements

• 5 or more years working on technology projects, including at least 2 in a delivery, systems analysis, business analysis or technical project management role
• Experience writing requirements documents, specifications or user stories that engineering teams built from
• Direct experience managing clients or stakeholders on technical projects
• Experience coordinating engineers, analysts or other technical staff
