Cinema Manager

Filmhouse Cinemas is seeking a Cinema Manager to oversee daily cinema operations, improve profitability, manage staff performance, control operational costs and ensure excellent guest experiences

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the cinemas
• Support the Business Manager in driving daily retail profitability by maximising revenue per head (RPH) and minimising shrinkage and wastage
• Proactively manage daily operational costs, controllable expenses, third-party contractors and team members
• Plan, execute and manage operational tasks within the cinema
• Provide feedback to the Business Manager and colleagues on ways to improve cinema operations while championing the needs of guests and team members
• Maximise employee performance through teamwork, motivation, coaching and effective performance management
• Undertake administrative tasks, prepare staff shift rotas and organise staff remuneration
• Work with the Film Booking Department to propose and prepare performance schedules that meet business plan objectives
• Ensure the cinemas meet set audience targets each week or period

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in operations management at a supervisory level (retail experience is preferred)
• Excellent customer relationship and management skills
• Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to adapt to varying situations
• Ability to stay abreast of industry trends and apply specialised knowledge to everyday situations
• Strong understanding of health and safety
• Excellent report-writing and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Good job knowledge
• Strong customer relations, negotiation and networking skills
• Personal credibility
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
