About this role
Jobtion Consulting is supporting a reputable school to recruit an experienced Toddler & Nursery Teacher.
A reputable private school in Lagos requires the services of an experienced Toddler & Nursery Class Teacher.
The role reports to the Supervisor,Early Years / Deputy Head Teacher.
Location: Orchid, Eleganza, Lagos State
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Salary: N150,000 - N200,000 net (open to negotiation)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Teaching and Learning:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, play-based lessons for Toddler and Nursery classes.
- Focus on EYFS areas: Communication & Language, Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts.
- Use phonics, number play, songs, rhymes, and stories to build foundational skills.
- Provide individualized learning and care for toddlers while introducing structured learning for nursery.
B. Care and Classroom Management:
- Ensure safety, hygiene, and well-being of all children at all times.
- Manage combined age groups effectively with patience and creativity.
- Create a warm, colorful, and stimulating classroom environment.
C. Assessment & Observation:
- Observe, assess, and keep records of each child’s progress and developmental milestones.
- Identify learning needs, speech or behavioral delays early and escalate appropriately.
D. Parent & Team Collaboration:
- Build positive relationships with parents, giving daily feedback on feeding, toileting, behavior, and learning.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, nannies, and other Early Years teachers.
E. Professional Duties:
- Uphold school safeguarding, health and safety policies.
- Attend trainings, meetings, and school events.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- NCE /B.Ed in Early Childhood Education / Primary Education.
- Minimum of 3-4 years experience handling Toddler and Nursery combined in a reputable school/crèche.
- Strong knowledge of EYFS framework and Montessori approach is an advantage.
- Very patient, loving, energetic, and passionate about toddlers.
- Good communication skills and neat appearance.
- Must reside in Lagos.
