About this role
A retail pharmacy business located on Old Ojo Road, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State, is recruiting an Accountant to manage store bookkeeping, inventory valuation, daily sales reconciliations, and cash flow operations. Reporting to management, this full-time role oversees daily financial tracking, bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, stock audits, and statutory financial reporting for the pharmacy store.

Experience Required: 2–4 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably within retail, pharmacy, FMCG, or inventory-heavy environments

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Cash Flow Reconciliation: Execute daily sales reconciliations, monitor cash flow, balance POS/transfer receipts, and perform monthly bank reconciliations.

Inventory Accounting & Valuation: Oversee physical stock counts, reconcile inventory balances against sales registers, and track stock valuation for pharmaceutical products.

Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate general ledger entries, process payables/receivables, and compile monthly financial performance reports.

Budgeting & Compliance: Assist with financial planning, budget preparation, and statutory tax/regulatory compliance filings.
Requirements & Qualifications

Academic Background: HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Professional Certification: ICAN, ATS (Accounting Technicians Scheme), or ACCA certification is an added advantage.

Technical Skills: Practical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and specialized accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or retail inventory software).

Core Competencies: Inventory accounting controls, bank reconciliation, high numerical accuracy, financial reporting, and proximity to Amuwo Odofin.
