Full Stack Engineer

Tongston Entrepreneurship Group, a multi-award-winning brand providing entrepreneurial education, media, enterprise, and finance services, is recruiting a Full Stack Engineer (Back-End Focus). This 100% remote 12-month independent contractor role will own server-side services, data models, API integrations, and AI workflows for T-World—Tongston's AI-powered digital ecosystem—while supporting front-end React UI components when needed.

Key Details 

• Job Title: Full Stack Engineer (Back-End Focus — Node.js, MongoDB, AI Enablement, Web3 Exposure + Front-End Supportive - React (Web))

• Location: Remote (Candidates based in Gombe, Bauchi, Ilorin, Lagos, or Abuja preferred; NYSC candidates considered for Gombe, Lagos, or Abuja)

• Employment Type: Contract (12-month full-time paid independent contractor engagement)

• Compensation: ₦200,000 monthly fee + Remote Productivity Support Package + ₦350,000 L&D budget + Company laptop

Key Responsibilities

• Back-End Architecture & API Development: Build and maintain server-side microservices and APIs using Node.js and Express; design and optimize MongoDB schemas, queries, and performance indexes.

• System Integrations & Storage: Manage integrations for authentication (Firebase), media storage (Cloudinary and AWS S3 migration), secrets management, logging, and environment configuration.

• AI Enablement & Workflow Integration: Implement end-to-end AI workflows (UI → API → AI → DB) for assistants, search, and content generation using orchestration tools like LangChain, ensuring error handling, rate limiting, and output traceability.

• Front-End Support: Build lightweight React components to validate APIs, test AI flows, or build internal admin tools using Vite, Tailwind CSS, TanStack Query, and Zustand.

• CI/CD, Security & Operations: Maintain automated deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions, follow OWASP-aligned security practices, and ensure system reliability, logging, and code quality.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Relevant degree, qualification, or practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical disciplines.

• Technical Experience: Proven background in Node.js, Express.js, REST API design, and MongoDB performance tuning (schemas, aggregations, indexing).

• Front-End Capabilities: Working experience with React.js for integration-level UI implementation and frontend-backend alignment.

• Cloud, Security & Tools: Hands-on experience with Firebase Authentication, AWS S3, Git/GitHub, CI/CD, and basic web security standards.

Core Competencies

• Strong analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills for server-side infrastructure.

• Ability to integrate AI workflows, manage timeouts/latencies, and implement fallback mechanisms.

• Proactive ownership mindset with clear communication skills for remote Agile environments.

• Familiarity with LangChain/LLM APIs, Web3 concepts (wallets, token flows), background queues, or serverless patterns is an added advantage.
