SME Loan Officer

Future You Limited is a consulting firm providing coaching, clarity and capital for individuals and businesses looking to transition to the next stage of growth in their lives, careers and businesses. As part of its expansion plan, the company is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic SME Loan Officer to join its growing sales and marketing team. The ideal candidate will support the growth of the company's SME loan portfolio by identifying and onboarding viable small and medium-sized businesses for credit facilities

• Location: Abraham Adesanya, Ajah, Lagos
• Job Type: Full-time
• Salary: NGN 140,000 per month
• Experience: 0-2 years (fresh graduates considered)

Key Responsibilities

• Market and promote the company's SME loan products to eligible business owners within the assigned location
• Identify and develop new SME customer leads through field prospecting, referrals, networking, and other business development activities
• Engage business owners to understand their financing needs and recommend appropriate loan products
• Assist prospective customers with completing loan applications and ensure all required information and documentation are accurately provided
• Conduct basic business and customer verification, including physical business visits, address verification, and review of relevant business information
• Gather and review basic financial information, including sales, expenses, cash flow, and existing financial obligations, to support the assessment of customers' repayment capacity
• Prepare and submit complete loan applications and supporting documentation for review and approval in line with the company's credit policies
• Follow up on loan applications and maintain regular communication with customers throughout the approval and disbursement process

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or any related field
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience in sales, customer service, banking, microfinance, fintech, lending, or financial services. Fresh graduates with a strong interest in SME lending will also be considered
• Interest in building a career in SME lending, credit, microfinance, or financial services
• Basic understanding of financial concepts, with the ability to work with figures and understand simple business cash flows
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer relationship management skills
• Good sales and persuasion skills, with the ability to engage business owners and generate new customer leads
