Machine Operator
About this role
The M & W Nuts Company is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to oversee cashew processing machinery and ensure efficient production operations. The role covers machine performance, routine maintenance, safety compliance, and support for continuous improvement initiatives within the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor cashew processing machines and equipment
- Conduct routine inspections and perform minor machine repairs when necessary
- Ensure proper setup, calibration, and maintenance of production equipment
- Follow SOPs and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment
- Troubleshoot machine faults and collaborate with the production team on corrective actions
- Record production data, machine performance, downtime, and output quality
- Train and support junior machine operators
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area
- Assist with process improvement and production efficiency initiatives
Requirements:
- OND, HND, BSc, or equivalent qualification
- Technical certification in mechanical or industrial operations is an added advantage
- 2–3 years of experience operating production machinery, preferably in food processing or manufacturing
- Experience operating boiler and packaging machines is an added advantage
- Strong troubleshooting and machine maintenance skills
- Good understanding of workplace safety practices
