About this role
Alan & Grant is hiring an experienced Category Manager to drive category growth, profitability, and market performance. You will lead category strategy, oversee marketing campaigns, manage product portfolios, and work with commercial teams to optimize product availability, distribution, and customer engagement across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category growth strategies and marketing campaigns.
- Manage category P&L and ensure profitability aligns with business objectives.
- Design channel-specific category plans, assortments, and shelf layouts.
- Develop pricing and promotional strategies to drive sales growth.
- Improve product distribution and availability across retail channels.
- Lead customer marketing initiatives and support the S&OP process.
- Manage retailer investments, margins, and customer profitability.
- Plan and execute BTL marketing activities, merchandising programs, and trade launches.
- Analyze sales, off-take, and market data to generate actionable insights.
- Manage annual marketing budgets and build strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key clients nationwide.
Requirements
- HND/BSc. in Marketing, Business Administration, Advertising, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in FMCG, food, retail, or trade marketing environments.
- Proven experience in brand management, category management, and commercial growth.
- Strong knowledge of the 4Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion).
- Experience executing trade marketing campaigns, loyalty programs, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Good understanding of digital marketing platforms and channels.
- Strong analytical, financial management, and project management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
