About the Role

247Bet is looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to own and strengthen the compliance function across AML/CFT, KYC, responsible gaming and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on role that works closely with Product, Engineering, Payments, Finance and Leadership, and serves as a key point of contact with regulators and licensing authorities.

Previous experience in sports betting, iGaming, gaming or lottery is highly preferred. Candidates who can start immediately or at short notice have a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the company's compliance framework, policies and procedures.
• Ensure the platform operates in line with its gaming licence and applicable Nigerian regulations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise Management on relevant changes and impact.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and maintain the compliance risk register.
• Design, implement and oversee AML/CFT and KYC controls.
• Monitor player activity and transactions for suspicious or unusual behaviour; manage escalation and reporting.
• Work with KYC, AML and fraud technology providers (e.g. Smile ID, SEON) to strengthen controls.
• Partner with Engineering and Product to embed compliance controls into the platform.
• Develop and oversee the responsible-gaming programme (age verification, player protection, self-exclusion, deposit limits).
• Act as a key point of contact with regulators; coordinate filings, reports and correspondence.
• Develop and deliver compliance training and promote a strong compliance culture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Risk or a closely related field.
• Strong practical knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC and responsible-gaming requirements.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as sports betting, iGaming, gaming, lottery, fintech or payments (sports betting/iGaming highly preferred).
• Familiarity with Nigerian regulatory requirements and gaming/lottery licensing.
• Experience developing and implementing compliance policies, controls and processes.
• Experience with transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting.
• Strong judgement, attention to detail, documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Product, Engineering, Payments, Finance and Leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, Compliance or a related discipline.

Nice to Have

• Direct experience in sports betting or iGaming compliance.
• Experience with KYC/AML platforms such as Smile ID or SEON.
• Professional certification such as CAMS, ICA or a relevant legal/compliance qualification.
• Exposure to multi-jurisdictional or West African regulatory environments.

Location and Arrangement

Lagos, Nigeria (hybrid, full-time).
