About this role
About the Role
Supervise and authorize card settlements while supporting the Unit Head in delivering quality settlement services and ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely settlement of card transactions
- Manage Visa, Verve, Afrigo, Amex, and Mastercard settlement processes
- Reconcile transaction reports and settlement values
- Ensure accurate posting to settlement, revenue, expense, and merchant accounts
- Process chargebacks, credit card settlements, and repayment files promptly
- Ensure timely regulatory reporting and daily clearing of suspense accounts
- Drive automation of settlement processes
- Analyze settlement data and identify improvement opportunities
- Train and guide settlement officers
- Manage stakeholder relationships and mitigate settlement risks
Requirements
- First Degree in any discipline with a minimum of Second Class Honours
- Minimum of 6 years relevant experience
- Master's degree and professional certification are added advantages
- Strong knowledge of card settlement processes and accounting principles
- Excellent analytical, communication, and data interpretation skills
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up and problem-solving abilities
