Android Engineer

FairMoney, a credit-led mobile banking platform for emerging markets operating primarily in Nigeria, is hiring an Android Engineer in its Technology Division. You will work alongside engineers in Lagos and remotely across the globe as part of the core engineering team of a fast-growing fintech

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Create, develop and test new features across the entire SDLC
• Maintain high-quality standards across all areas, including code quality
• Share knowledge and mentor junior developers

Technical Stack

• The customer-facing product is an Android application
• Backend services in Ruby on Rails or Go (Sidekiq, RSpec)
• Machine learning pipeline built as a Flask API in Python
• Hosted on AWS: Kubernetes, SNS, SQS, Lambda, RDS Aurora, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, DynamoDB, S3 and Kinesis (data streams, Firehose)
• Prototype data warehouse on GCP (GCS, BigQuery, Cloud Composer)
• CI/CD pipeline run with GitHub Actions

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in Android native development
• 4+ years coding in Kotlin/Java
• 2+ years experience in pair programming, TDD and code reviews
• 2+ years experience with Unit Tests, Instrumented Tests and End to End Tests
• Ability to create clean, efficient and high-quality code
• Familiarity with multi-module apps
• Comfortable with Clean Architecture, Jetpack Compose and Coroutines (or RxJava)
• You use AI-assisted development tools well, and know where they help and where they don't
