Mandilas Group is hiring a Tax Officer in Lagos to manage tax compliance, filings, reconciliations and remittances, and to support tax audits and planning across the business

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit tax returns, declarations and statutory filings within deadlines
- Compute, reconcile and remit VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE and other applicable taxes
- Maintain tax compliance calendars, records, schedules and supporting documents
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise relevant teams on their implications
- Reconcile tax accounts, investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate tax reporting
- Coordinate tax audits, respond to tax queries and liaise with relevant tax authorities
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll on employee tax deductions, reconciliations and remittances
- Identify tax risks, support tax planning and recommend lawful tax efficiency improvements
- Maintain tax documentation and internal controls
- Prepare periodic tax compliance reports and support financial reporting requirements
- Work with Finance, Procurement, Sales, HR, Legal and other departments on tax-related matters
Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant tax experience
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance, accounting, reconciliations and statutory filings
- Understanding of VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE and applicable federal and state tax regulations
- Experience supporting tax audits, regulatory reviews and tax authority correspondence
- Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and meet statutory deadlines
