About this role
Hoganguards Limited, a security solutions company with over four decades of operational history, is recruiting a full-time Payroll / Accounts Officer. Based in Lagos, this role focuses on end-to-end payroll processing, managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining general ledgers, filing statutory taxes, and managing large workforce payment documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing: Accurate computation and timely disbursement of monthly salaries; tracking attendance records, field staff allowances, and deployment payment schedules across a large workforce.

Financial Accounting & Reporting: Prepare general ledger entries, payment vouchers, invoices, receipts, and bank reconciliations; generate periodic financial summaries for leadership.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Calculate, prepare, and file monthly statutory remittances including PAYE, Pensions, VAT, and Withholding Tax (WHT) in compliance with Nigerian tax laws.

Payables & Receivables Management: Handle client invoicing, vendor reconciliations, contract payment tracking, and company expenditure monitoring.

Audit & Banking Support: Assist with internal and external financial audits; liaise with financial institutions, tax authorities, and client billing representatives.
Requirements & Qualifications Education & Certifications

Degree: Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Added Advantage: Professional accounting certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) or specialized training in payroll systems.
Experience

Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in payroll management and general accounting operations.

Industry Context: Prior experience in security services, facilities management, workforce administration, or service-based enterprises handling high-volume staff payroll is a strong advantage.
Technical & Core Competencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting/payroll software platforms.

In-depth understanding of Nigerian taxation laws, payroll structures, and financial reporting principles.

High level of discretion, attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills under tight deadlines.
