Internal Audit Officer

Prudential Zenith Life Insurance Ltd (PZL), a subsidiary of Prudential Plc and one of Nigeria's most capitalized life insurance providers, is recruiting an Internal Audit Officer. Based in Victoria Island, Lagos, this role will support the Head of Internal Audit (HIA) in planning, executing audit projects, conducting IT/process reviews, and strengthening internal control environments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit Execution & Documentation: Support audit planning, manage audit working papers, evaluate process control weaknesses, and prepare clear draft audit reports with actionable recommendations.

• Control & Deficiency Tracking: Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations across departments, delivering timely reports on control deficiencies to senior leadership.

• IT Audit & Governance: Participate in IT audits focusing on IT corporate governance, software application architecture, and business support systems.

• Regulatory Alignment: Maintain up-to-date alignment with insurance industry rules, regulatory frameworks, audit tools, and performance standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Post Graduate Degree is an added advantage.

• Professional Credentials: Required professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CISA, or CIA.

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of cognate experience within the insurance sector, including a solid grasp of the insurance regulatory environment.

• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with basic accounting/insurance software, IT audit methodologies, and Microsoft Office Suite.
