Import / Logistics Officer

Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Plc is recruiting a qualified Import / Logistics Officer to join its Import & Export division located in Ota, Ogun State.

This operational role focuses on end-to-end import planning, port clearance execution, regulatory compliance, shipping logistics, and freight management to ensure raw materials and machinery arrive seamlessly to support manufacturing operations.

• Port Clearance & Regulatory Compliance: Manage customs documentation, port clearance workflows, and regulatory compliance with relevant Nigerian agencies (e.g., Nigerian Ports Authority [NPA], Nigeria Customs Service [NCS], Standards Organisation of Nigeria [SON]).

• Logistics & Freight Coordination: Coordinate shipping, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and inland haulage/transportation of imported goods and capital machinery.

• Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Liaison directly with international suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, shipping lines, and haulage contractors.

• Cost & Lead Time Optimization: Track inbound international shipments, monitor transit times, mitigate demurrage/detention costs, and optimize supply chain lead times.

• Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain meticulous import documentation, custom clearance files, cost records, and periodic logistics status reports.

• Education: B.Sc or HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in import/export operations and logistics within a manufacturing sector environment.

• Domain Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Nigerian port clearing procedures, freight management, shipping documentation (Form M, PAAR, Bill of Lading, etc.), and customs tariffs.

• Core Competencies: Strong commercial negotiation skills, vendor management, inventory tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
