About this role
Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Plc is recruiting a strategic and hands-on Head, Import & Export to lead its global trade, regulatory compliance, and logistics operations at its facility in Ota, Ogun State.
As a major manufacturer and supplier of BOPP and CPP films across Africa, the company requires a leader to manage end-to-end international shipping, customs clearing, regulatory compliance, and team leadership across raw material, machinery, and finished goods supply chains.
Key Responsibilities-
Strategic Trade Operations: Oversee all import and export movements for raw materials, industrial machinery, and finished packaging products to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing and export delivery.

Regulatory Compliance & Clearance: Manage end-to-end documentation, shipping, port clearing, and regulatory filings in full compliance with Nigerian government agencies (Nigeria Customs Service [NCS], NAFDAC, SON, NESREA, etc.).

Vendor & Agency Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, port authorities, and regulatory officials.

Supply Chain Optimization: Develop strategies to streamline import/export lead times, minimize port demurrage/storage fees, negotiate freight rates, and optimize overall landed costs.

Trade Governance: Enforce strict adherence to international commercial terms (INCOTERMS), HS Code classifications, tariff schedules, Form M/PAAR processing, and corporate trade policies.

Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and build capacity across the internal Import & Export team.

Education: B.Sc or HND in Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Advantage: An M.Sc in Economics or Accounting.

Professional Membership: Membership with the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN).

Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in Import/Export operations.

At least 2 years in a senior or supervisory/leadership role.

Proven track record within a manufacturing environment.

Core Competencies: Expert knowledge of Nigerian port clearing procedures, customs tariff codes, international trade compliance, commercial negotiation, and cross-functional leadership.
