About this role
Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR)—an indigenous non-profit development institution accelerating health, social, and human development reforms across West and Central Africa—is recruiting a Legal Intern for its headquarters in Abuja (FCT). This internship position sits within the Legal and Compliance unit, focusing on data protection compliance (NDPA/NDPR), policy analysis, health/human rights law research, and corporate regulatory governance.
Key Responsibilities-
Data Protection & Privacy Compliance: Assist in drafting privacy policies, consent forms, and data-sharing agreements; support data protection audits, maintain compliance records, and handle Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).

Legal & Policy Research: Conduct legal research on national/international health, education, and human rights laws; identify gaps in current legal frameworks and draft policy reform briefs.

Legal Documentation & Governance: Support the drafting and review of contracts, organizational policies, corporate governance files, and intellectual property documentation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Training: Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and international partners; collaborate on staff training modules covering data privacy best practices.

Educational Background: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree or current Law student / Law School graduate with a background in Law, Human Rights, or Regulatory Compliance.

Core Interests: Demonstrated interest in data privacy laws, health policy, human rights advocacy, and non-profit governance.

Key Competencies: Excellent legal research and writing capabilities, high ethical standards, attention to detail, and fast adaptability in a structured research/development setting.
