Mechanical Technician

Agbeyewa Industries Limited—through its subsidiary, Matna Foods Limited—is recruiting a Mechanical Technician for its starch processing plant located near Akure, Ondo State. This technical maintenance role ensures equipment reliability, executes preventive and corrective mechanical repairs, diagnoses machine faults, and maintains continuous production flow across the facility's cassava starch processing lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute planned servicing, lubrication, alignment, and overhaul of starch processing machinery (pumps, industrial conveyors, electric motors, gearboxes, and rotary dryers).

• Fault Diagnosis & Downtime Reduction: Perform rapid troubleshooting of mechanical failures during active production shifts to minimize plant downtime and process bottlenecks.

• Equipment Commissioning & Calibration: Assist with the installation, alignment, calibration, and operational testing of new or overhauled mechanical units.

• Documentation & Safety Governance: Maintain precise maintenance logs and service records while strictly adhering to industrial safety, factory sanitation, and GMP protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Academic Background: National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or technical equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.

• Work Experience: 3–5 years of direct industrial mechanical maintenance experience in FMCG, food processing, or agro-allied manufacturing plants.

• Technical Competencies: Expertise in reading mechanical schematics, interpreting equipment manuals, and servicing heavy processing hardware (pumps, gearboxes, drive systems).

• Work Conditions: Willingness to operate within a shift-based, fast-paced factory environment.
