Associate Professor

Cosmopolitan University—a private, technology-driven higher education institution approved by the Federal Executive Council—is recruiting an Associate Professor (Accounting) for its academic faculty in Abuja (FCT). Reporting to the Head of Department (HOD) and Dean of the Faculty of Management & Social Sciences, this senior academic position delivers university-level lectures, leads financial accounting research, publishes in international journals, mentors junior faculty, and manages student thesis supervision.

• Academic Instruction & Curriculum Delivery: Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in financial accounting, auditing, management accounting, and corporate finance using technology-driven, student-centered learning methodologies.

• Research Leadership & Publications: Lead innovative accounting research projects, present papers at academic conferences, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.

• Faculty Mentorship & Departmental Leadership: Guide junior lecturers, supervise undergraduate/postgraduate dissertations, contribute to curriculum reviews, and support university accreditation processes.

• Community & Industry Engagement: Foster strategic links between the university and professional accounting bodies (e.g., ICAN, ACCA), while participating in university administrative committees.

• Mandatory Prerequisites: Terminal Degree (Ph.D.) in Accounting + 7 years of university lecture room experience + robust journal publication history.

• Technical & Digital Skills: Proficiency in IT tools, Microsoft Office suite, digital Learning Management Systems (LMS), and basic statistical/accounting software.

• Core Competencies: Student-centered pedagogy, academic research design, thesis supervision, professional conference participation, and academic leadership.
