Information Technology Officer

ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) is hiring an Information Technology Officer for the Office of the Auditor General of ECOWAS Institutions (OAG) in Abuja, Nigeria. The OAG is an independent assurance office supporting ECOWAS governance bodies on oversight, accountability, and value for money.

About the Role

Under the Principal Officer, Internal Services, the IT Officer keeps OAG information and communication systems running, supports digitalization and ICT projects, and helps ensure compliance with ECOWAS ICT policies and cybersecurity standards. Grade P3/P4; permanent.

Location

Abuja, Nigeria (onsite), ECOWAS Headquarters. Full-time, permanent.

Grade and Compensation

Grade P3/P4. Annual salary (indicative entry step): P3/1 - UA40,696.78 (USD 52,648.78).

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and contribute to the development of OAG's ICT strategy in alignment with ECOWAS digital transformation objectives.
• Participate in the recommendation of ICT policies, standards, and procedures.
• Participate in the preparation of annual ICT work plans and budgets.
• Contribute to providing technical advice to Management on ICT investments and emerging technologies.
• Ensure compliance with ECOWAS ICT governance frameworks.
• Manage Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), wireless networks, VPNs, and internet connectivity.
• Monitor system performance and implement preventive maintenance.
• Ensure high system availability and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A master's degree in information technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Information Systems, or a related field and/or professional certification in Information Technology fields will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in one or multiple areas of ICT operations including ICT infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, or enterprise ICT management.
• Experience in general ICT service operations will be an added advantage.
• Citizen of an ECOWAS member state.
• Be below 45 years old (does not apply to internal candidates).
