Head of Business Development & Financial Advisory

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead business development and financial advisory, drive revenue growth, and build strategic relationships with financial institutions

• Compensation Budget: NGN 50m - 60m per annum

Key Responsibilities

• Project Risk Advisory: Assess risks associated with infrastructure, power, real estate, oil and gas, and manufacturing projects, and develop insurance programmes that meet lender requirements and international standards
• Financial Institution Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), private equity firms, and infrastructure funds
• Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, strengthen partnerships with financial institutions, secure referrals, and drive revenue growth through insurance advisory services
• Policy Structuring and Placement: Collaborate with insurers and reinsurers to negotiate and structure insurance policies that meet lenders' requirements and project financing obligations
• Insurance Due Diligence and Compliance: Review insurance provisions in financing agreements, prepare Lenders' Insurance Adviser (LIA) reports, monitor compliance, and ensure adequate insurance coverage throughout the project lifecycle
• Claims Advocacy: Lead claims recovery processes, protect lenders' interests, and leverage claims experience to support future business development opportunities
• Portfolio Monitoring: Oversee insured project portfolios, manage policy renewals, and ensure appropriate coverage as project requirements evolve
• Strategic Growth: Contribute to the development and execution of the company's overall growth strategy

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in project finance, insurance, energy, construction, or infrastructure
• Proven track record in business development and revenue generation
• Strong experience in financial institution relationship management and insurance risk advisory
• Demonstrated leadership, team management, and financial performance management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Risk Management, Engineering, Law, or a related field
