Head, Portfolio Management

A financial services group in Lagos is hiring a Head, Portfolio Management to oversee the quality, performance and recovery of its loan portfolio, and to lead a team of portfolio and recovery officers

Job Details

• Location: Lagos (fully physical, with occasional weekend recovery drives)
• Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Monitor the quality and performance of the Group's loan portfolio
• Design early warning systems to catch potential defaults before they occur
• Drive loan recovery and collections efficiency
• Negotiate workable repayment plans with delinquent customers
• Manage Portfolio-at-Risk (PAR), provisioning and the write-off process
• Lead and coach a team of 5-10 portfolio and recovery officers
• Report on portfolio performance and support audits

Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in credit, collections, portfolio management or financial services operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
• Bachelor's degree or HND in Banking and Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
• Certifications in banking (CIBN), risk management (FRM, CRM), credit administration or microfinance are an advantage
• Strong integrity, sound analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to balance commercial discipline with customer dignity
• Proficiency with loan management systems, collection platforms and data tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL)
• Solid knowledge of CBN guidelines and consumer protection regulations
