About this role
Mindas Petroleum Limited, a prominent downstream energy organization with over two decades of leadership in the supply, distribution, and retail of premium petroleum products across Nigeria, is recruiting a full-time Operations Manager. Operating from the corporate headquarters in Lagos, this senior management role reports directly to the Managing Director.
The Operations Manager will coordinate daily downstream asset workflows, encompassing fuel procurement, depot storage, fleet logistics, and retail station distribution. This position is designed for a strategic energy executive capable of managing a large field team, enforcing health and safety (HSE) measures, minimizing product losses, and driving bottom-line profitability across PMS, AGO, DPK, and LPG product lines.
Key Responsibilities-
Supply Chain Architecture: Supervise end-to-end downstream operations, managing product procurement, depot storage facilities, and fleet distribution networks to secure maximum stock availability.

Logistics & Fleet Dispatch: Orchestrate mass transport schedules, transit routing, and fleet allocation to cut downtime and completely prevent transit volume losses.

Regulatory Compliance & HSE: Enforce strict compliance guidelines set by NMDPRA, SON, and other statutory bodies while conducting routine safety audits and risk assessments across all sites.

Financial Oversight & Cost Control: Monitor operational budgets, audit stock discrepancies, track fuel shrinkage, pilferage, or wastage, and deploy strict structural countermeasures to maintain profit margins.

Personnel & Station Management: Lead, mentor, and evaluate operations staff, retail station managers, haulage drivers, and depot crews through structured performance metrics.

Process Optimization & Reporting: Standardize operating procedures (SOPs), synthesize weekly/monthly performance data, and draft comprehensive operational reports for executive review.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.

Experience Baseline: 7 to 10 years of rock-solid experience within downstream oil and gas operations, with a proven track record in depot management, bulk fuel distribution, or retail station networks.

Regulatory Literacy: Comprehensive understanding of Nigerian petroleum regulatory laws, transport safety codes, and NMDPRA operating rules.

Leadership Mechanics: Exceptional field-team leadership, analytical problem-solving skills, high financial literacy, and absolute personal accountability under pressure.
