Local Buka, an innovative, fast-growing food-tech platform transforming food discovery in Africa, is recruiting a Video Editor (Intern). Local Buka connects food lovers with affordable, authentic local dining options based on their budget and preferences, while simultaneously driving visibility, digital presence, and growth for small food businesses and local culinary vendors.
As a Video Editor Intern, you will join the brand's creative media and marketing team in Lagos. This role is focused on the post-production assembly of highly engaging, fast-paced multimedia assets designed for social feeds and digital ads. It offers an excellent training ground and portfolio-building platform for aspiring video editors, motion graphic enthusiasts, and digital content creators looking to gain professional experience within a high-growth tech startup.
Key Responsibilities-
Short-Form Video Post-Production: Cut, splice, and assemble raw footages into high-retention, engaging short-form video formats (TikToks, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts) based on campaign briefs.

Audio Engineering & Synchronization: Layer background music tracks, clear up sound bytes, sync sound effects (SFX), and align voiceovers precisely with on-screen visual developments.

Text & Subtitle Animating: Create clean, synchronized on-screen auto-captions, typography transitions, and pop-up motion titles to keep viewers engaged even on mute.

Color Correction & Pacing: Apply dynamic color grading, balance lighting profiles across raw street footage, and optimize edit pacing to match trending audio loops or high-energy narratives.

Media Asset Organizing: Manage internal cloud storage drives, organize raw video databases sent in by field teams, and export video files in multiple aspect ratios (9:16, 16:9, 1:1).

Education & Qualification: Open to current undergraduates, fresh graduates, or OND/HND holders in Media Production, Cinematography, Creative Arts, Computer Science, or any related field.

Software Competency: Practical familiarity with mobile or desktop editing suites (such as CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro) is required.

Creative Showreel/Portfolio: Must possess a digital link to previous video projects, sample edits, or personal short-form media creations demonstrating cutting and transitions skills.

Core Attributes: Strong eye for visual pacing, solid understanding of internet video trends, high attention to structural detail, and a strong willingness to learn within a collaborative startup environment.
