About this role
Local Buka, an innovative, fast-growing food-tech platform transforming food discovery in Africa, is recruiting a Content Creator (Intern). Local Buka connects food lovers with affordable, authentic local dining options based on their budget and preferences, while simultaneously driving visibility and growth for small food businesses and local culinary vendors.
As a Content Creator Intern, you will join the brand's creative marketing team in Lagos. This role is highly hands-on and immersive, focusing on storytelling, short-form video creation, and digital community engagement. It offers an excellent training ground and career launchpad for creative storytellers, food enthusiasts, and social-media-savvy individuals looking to build a professional portfolio in tech-marketing, e-commerce, and brand strategy.
Key Responsibilities-
Visual Storytelling & Video Production: Concept, shoot, and edit high-engagement, short-form video content (TikToks, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts) spotlighting local food vendors, hidden bukka gems, and culinary reviews.
-
Copywriting & Caption Engineering: Draft engaging, culturally resonant, and grammatically precise captions, micro-blogs, and newsletter content targeted at food lovers.
-
Community Engagement: Assist in monitoring social media channels, responding to community comments, and initiating active digital dialogue with food discoverers and vendors.
-
Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of viral social media trends, popular audio loops, and digital content styles to integrate them cleanly into Local Buka's weekly content calendar.
-
Cross-Functional Support: Work alongside brand designers and product marketers to design digital campaigns that grow user acquisition and boost application downloads.
-
Education & Qualification: Open to current undergraduates, fresh graduates, or OND/HND holders in Mass Communication, Creative Arts, Marketing, English, or related fields.
-
Experience & Portfolio: Basic, self-demonstrated experience creating content (even on personal profiles) is highly valued. A portfolio or links to active social media accounts showcasing video editing (CapCut/InShot), photography, or creative copy is a major advantage.
-
Mobile Tool Dexterity: Highly comfortable operating smartphones to capture crisp video/audio footage, with basic familiarity running social dashboard tools.
-
Core Traits: Enthusiastic about Nigerian culinary culture, a natural eye for aesthetic framing, strong research habits, and a high willingness to learn within a fast-paced environment.
