About this role
Solar Nigachem Limited, a leading manufacturer and provider of industrial explosives, blasting solutions, and technical services for mining, quarrying, construction, and seismic exploration across Nigeria, is recruiting a results-oriented Sales Engineer. Based in Abuja (FCT), this full-time technical professional will drive commercial expansion, manage client accounts, conduct on-site product demonstrations, and advise key stakeholders across Northern Nigeria on the selection, application, and regulatory compliance of civil explosives.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales: Identify and capture high-value commercial opportunities in the mining, quarrying, and infrastructure sectors across Northern Nigeria, consistently meeting established sales quotas.
- Technical Advisory & Demos: Provide expert guidance on explosive selection, blast design, and safe handling procedures. Conduct on-site product demonstrations and train client operational teams.
- Tender & Proposal Management: Track regional tender opportunities, prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, and lead bidding processes.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, site engineers, distributors, and relevant regulatory agencies.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Enforce strict adherence to government regulations and safety standards regarding explosives transportation, storage, and application while navigating regional operational conditions.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in technical sales, with a strong focus on the explosives, mining, or heavy construction sectors.
- Geographic & Language Requirements:
- Must have deep knowledge of the mining, quarrying, and infrastructure sectors in Northern Nigeria.
- Fluency in Hausa is mandatory for effective stakeholder and regional field communication.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and total willingness to travel extensively across northern states.
- Technical Skills: Thorough understanding of industrial explosives, blasting mechanics, site evaluation, and statutory safety regulations governing civil explosives.
Core Competencies:
- Proven deal-closing, contract management, and B2B client relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate competitor moves, market trends, and field operational requirements.
