Quality Assurance Engineer

iRecharge, a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) licensed FinTech company specializing in cross-border payment processing, bill payments, and agency banking, is recruiting a Quality Assurance Engineer. This is a full-time, fully remote position focusing on end-to-end software quality, test automation, API testing, and continuous process improvement across web and mobile platforms.

• Testing Execution & Automation: Design, build, and execute test cases (manual and automated) across web, mobile, and API interfaces, covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

• Defect Tracking & Collaboration: Identify, log, track, and re-test bugs using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps while collaborating closely with developers and product managers to ensure prompt resolution.

• Workflow Ownership & Delivery: Take full ownership of testing cards from sprint initiation to final deployment, maintaining a balance between rigorous testing and swift delivery.

• Process Enhancement & Mentorship: Implement test automation best practices, improve CI/CD pipeline integration, refine internal QA SOPs, and mentor junior team members.

• Proactive Communication: Actively follow up on blockers, report regular progress updates in daily standups, and present technical test findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.

• Experience: 3+ years of progressive software quality assurance and testing experience.

• Automation & API Skills: Experience with automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Jest, or similar) and proficiency in API testing (Postman, REST Assured, etc.).

• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of programming languages (JavaScript, Python, Java) and familiarity with CI/CD integration.

• Project & Bug Tracking: Hands-on experience using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps to manage software bug lifecycles.

• High Ownership: Autonomous, self-directed professional who takes accountability for testing quality without requiring constant oversight.

• Proactive Communication: Exceptional written/verbal skills with a strong habit of following up on dependencies and communicating risks early.

• Analytical Precision: Strong attention to detail with an eye for detecting subtle edge cases and system flaws.
