Accountant

Orange Pot Africa Limited—a corporate firm specializing in the importation, construction, and distribution of high-end consumer goods, including premium wines and spirits through its trading arm Lock Stock and Barrel—is recruiting an Accountant for its office in Victoria Island, Lagos State. This core financial role manages day-to-day accounting operations, inter-company reconciliations, import cost monitoring, internal controls, and complete statutory tax compliance across federal and state revenue authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Core Accounting & Financial Reporting: Execute daily bookkeeping transactions, bank/vendor/inter-company reconciliations, inventory cost-of-goods tracking for imported stock, cash flow monitoring, and monthly/quarterly/year-end financial reporting. 
• Statutory & Tax Compliance: Prepare and remit PAYE (LIRS), VAT (FIRS), WHT, monthly Pension contributions, and customs/import documentation; support Company Income Tax (CIT) filings and liaise with tax auditors. 
• Systems & Controls: Maintain general ledgers and operational transaction records on Odoo software, uphold internal financial control procedures, and assist with audit preparations.

Requirements & Qualifications Academic Credentials:

• B.Sc. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Technical & System Mastery: 5 years of cognate accounting experience; strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension), MS Excel, and accounting software (Odoo experience is a strong advantage).
• Core Competencies: Advanced reconciliation capabilities, analytical rigor, high attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines independently under a six-day workweek schedule.
