IT Support Officer

Virgin Forest Energy Limited—a Nigerian downstream oil trading and petroleum distribution enterprise—is recruiting an IT Support Officer for its technical operations team in Lagos State. Reporting to the Head of IT, this role maintains corporate IT hardware, manages LAN/WAN network infrastructure, oversees workstation setups, enforces data protection protocols, and provides desktop/software troubleshooting across corporate departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Hardware & Workstation Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, network printers, and peripheral devices; coordinate hardware repairs with external vendors.

• Network & Security Administration: Troubleshoot local network connectivity (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, access points), assist with network security monitoring, and enforce data backup and disaster recovery protocols.

• User Support & Software Management: Support users across Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Windows Server environments, resolving daily technical support tickets.

• Data Protection & IT Compliance: Implement data protection practices to secure proprietary energy trading data and client records.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with hardware diagnostic tools, network architecture troubleshooting, Windows Server administration, and enterprise productivity software.

• Core Competencies: Network diagnostics, hardware repair, system performance monitoring, analytical problem-solving, and end-user technical support.
