Design Engineer

Majeurs Holdings Ltd—a United Kingdom-headquartered luxury furniture manufacturing brand operating a premier production factory in Lagos State—is recruiting a Design Engineer for its corporate and production facilities in Lekki, Lagos. This product design and manufacturing engineering role bridges creative furniture concepts and factory production. The engineer will produce 2D/3D CAD models, generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and cutting lists, supervise prototyping, and enforce production quality control for high-end residential and commercial furniture lines.

• 3D CAD Modeling & Technical Drawings: Develop 2D technical drawings, 3D CAD models, assembly layouts, and production documentation for custom furniture, cabinetry, wardrobes, and upholstery frames.

• BOM Generation & Material Selection: Prepare production-ready Bills of Materials (BOMs), hardware schedules, and cutting lists; select appropriate woods (plywood, MDF, HDF, hardwoods), laminates, veneers, metals, and fittings to minimize material waste.

• Factory Production Oversight & Quality Control: Conduct production feasibility reviews, supervise prototyping, assist with CNC machine setups and jig development, and inspect assembly stages to reduce defects and rework.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales teams, architects, interior designers, procurement agents, and workshop teams to translate bespoke client briefs into production-ready items.

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, Furniture Design, or Manufacturing Engineering.

• Software & Technical Proficiency: Mastery of CAD design platforms (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Fusion 360); deep knowledge of joinery techniques, CNC machining, welding, and finishing processes.

• Core Competencies: Technical drawing generation, BOM accuracy, furniture joinery, quality assurance auditing, lean manufacturing, and project prioritization.
