Server Administrator

Dangote Industries Limited—Africa's largest industrial conglomerate—is recruiting a Server Administrator for its central Information Technology arm (DANCOM) based at the Corporate Head Office in Lagos State.  Reporting to the Lead Infrastructure Architect and IT Operations Manager, this full-time role is responsible for provisioning, maintaining, optimizing, and securing Dangote Group's hybrid server infrastructure, virtualized systems, Active Directory domain Services, and disaster recovery environments.

• Server Infrastructure & Maintenance: Install, configure, patch, and maintain physical server hardware, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and virtual environments; perform hardware firmware upgrades and system updates.

• Active Directory & Access Governance: Administer Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Group Policy Objects (GPO), user accounts, roles, access permissions, and Domain Name System (DNS) protocols.

• Backup, Disaster Recovery & Continuity: Implement enterprise backup policies, run automated system backups, regularly test disaster recovery (DR) failover procedures, and uphold business continuity standards.

• Security & Compliance Policy Execution: Apply OS security hardening, patch management routines, anti-malware protections, firewall rules, and role-based access controls to meet enterprise compliance mandates.

• Monitoring, Diagnostics & Reporting: Monitor uptime, system health, server load, and storage metrics; troubleshoot OS crashes, hardware faults, and network connectivity issues; document infrastructure topologies.

• Academic Credentials: Bachelor's Degree + 3+ years of experience managing multi-site server environments.

• Technical Software & Platform Toolstack:

  • Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Ubuntu Server.

  • Directory & Identity Services: Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, GPO, LDAP, DNS, DHCP.

  • Virtualization & Cloud Platforms: VMware vSphere / ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix HCI.

  • Backup & Storage Infrastructure: Veeam Backup & Replication, SAN/NAS storage arrays, RAID configurations.
