About this role
Northwest Petroleum & Gas Company Limited—an oil and gas firm operating ultra-modern petroleum terminals (96.8M litre capacity) and engaged in crude oil export—is recruiting a Human Resources Manager for its executive operations based in Lagos State. Reporting to Executive Management, this strategic leadership position oversees workforce planning, CIPM/SHRM compliance, talent retention, performance management, executive succession pipelines, and industrial relations across the company's downstream terminals and commercial divisions.
Key Responsibilities-
Strategic HR & Organisational Alignment: Develop and execute the corporate human capital strategy, aligning talent acquisition, headcount planning, and organizational design with business expansion objectives.

Performance Management & Development: Lead annual KPI setting across business units, administer 360-degree performance review frameworks, and oversee capacity-building and corporate training programs.

Succession Planning & Total Rewards: Structure executive succession pipelines, career progression matrices, and competitive merit-based compensation packages to maintain employer-of-choice positioning.

Labour Law & Industrial Relations: Manage employee grievances, disciplinary proceedings, and minimize liability exposures by enforcing full compliance with Nigerian Labour Laws and industry regulations.

Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Business Administration, or related disciplines (M.Sc in HR, MBA, or Postgraduate degree preferred).

Professional Certifications (Mandatory): Active professional HR charter with CIPM (CIPMN), SHRM, CIPD, or HRCI.

Experience Baseline: 12+ years of generalist HR experience (5+ years in a senior HR Manager role); exposure to the oil and gas sector or heavy industrial logistics is highly desirable.

Core Competencies: Employment law expertise, HRIS & HR metrics platforms, labor negotiations, conflict resolution, and performance management framework design.
