About this role
Ascentech Services Limited—a human resources and workforce outsourcing firm operating in Nigeria and India—is recruiting a Junior Financial Accountant on behalf of its client, a telecommunications and smart tech infrastructure company based in Obalende, Lagos. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this operational accounting role manages day-to-day general ledgers, bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, expense tracking, and infrastructure cost accounting for fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), VoIP, and smart city technology projects.
Key Responsibilities

Ledger & Bookkeeping Operations: Maintain financial logs, process vendor invoices, manage payment vouchers, and track capital/operational expenditures for telecom infrastructure.

Reconciliations & Cash Flow: Conduct routine bank account reconciliations, manage accounts payable and receivable ledgers, and track project-level cash disbursements.

Financial Reporting & Compliance: Assist in generating monthly financial reports and trial balances while ensuring adherence to internal financial controls and tax regulations.

Telecom Cost Tracking: Support project cost accounting for smart city deployments, FTTH installations, and network hardware inventory.

Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or ICAN/ACCA student membership advantageous).

Software Mastery: Hands-on proficiency with Tally, FreshBooks, and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, financial formatting).

Domain Knowledge: Practical understanding of tech infrastructure accounting, telecommunications operational models, or startup finance setup.

Core Competencies: Numerical precision, ledger reconciliation, invoice processing, and financial communication.
