About this role
Abuja Clinics—a healthcare institution established in 1989 now operating a network of three modern hospitals across Maitama, Garki, and Karu in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)—is recruiting an Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant for its Maitama facility. Reporting to the Medical Director and Chief of Clinical Services, this senior medical role leads clinical, surgical, and emergency care within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, utilizing advanced diagnostic infrastructure (including 4D-Ultrasonography, stereotactic mammography, and 64-slice CT imaging).
Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Surgical Excellence: Lead out-patient consultations, high-risk antenatal care, complex gynaecological surgeries, minimally invasive procedures, and emergency obstetric care across the hospital group.

Departmental Leadership: Supervise resident doctors, medical officers, and clinical midwives; enforce clinical governance standards and evidence-based treatment protocols.

Multidisciplinary Diagnostics: Utilize advanced diagnostic imaging tools and collaborate with radiology and surgical teams for complex clinical interventions.

On-Call & Emergency Response: Participate in senior consultant call rotations, manage emergency admissions, and oversee critical care transfers.

Medical Credentials: MBBS/MBChB plus FMCOG, FWACS, or equivalent postgraduate fellowship specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

MDCN Clearance: Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and valid current practicing license.

Track Record: 8–10 years of clinical mastery in surgical gynaecology, maternal-fetal care, and clinical team management.

Core Competencies: Surgical dexterity, diagnostic accuracy, empathetic patient care, medical ethics, and emergency clinical leadership.
