About this role
Afro-Reach Clinical Research Organization (Afro-Reach CRO)—a specialized clinical research and regulatory execution firm—is recruiting a Laboratory & Logistics Manager / Senior Manager for its operational hub in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja (FCT). Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations & Quality Assurance, this key operational role directs end-to-end clinical trial sample logistics, cold-chain shipment coordination, laboratory supply inventory, vendor qualification, and international import/export permit compliance in strict accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and International Air Transport Association (IATA) biosafety standards.
Key Responsibilities-
Clinical Trial Sample Logistics & Biological Shipments: Oversee the handling, packaging, tracking, and international/domestic shipment of biological specimens, clinical trial materials (CTM), reagents, and investigational products (IP) while maintaining strict cold-chain integrity.

Regulatory Compliance & Customs Permits: Partner with Regulatory Affairs to secure NAFDAC/Nigerian Customs import/export permits, material transfer agreements (MTAs), clearance documentation, and ensure adherence to IATA biosafety and GDP rules.

Vendor Management & Quality Assurance: Qualify, onboard, and evaluate specialized bio-couriers, central laboratories, and logistics vendors; monitor temperature excursion logs, investigate deviations, and lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) workflows alongside Quality Assurance (QA).

Inventory Control & Audit Readiness: Maintain audit-ready trackers for lab supplies and biological samples, support sponsor audits/inspections, and lead process improvement initiatives across trial logistics workflows.

Senior Manager Functional Leadership (if appointed at Senior level): Formulate strategic laboratory logistics frameworks, resolve complex multi-country logistics bottlenecks, and mentor junior CRO operational staff.

Academic Credentials: Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences / Logistics + 5+ years (Manager) or 8+ years (Senior Manager) in CRO/clinical trial logistics.

Certifications & Compliance: IATA Dangerous Goods Certification, GCP, and GDP certifications.

Software & Operational Toolstack: Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), temperature logging software (Sensitech/Elpro), inventory ERPs, and MS Excel clinical trackers.

Core Competencies: Clinical sample cold-chain management, IATA biosafety compliance, vendor performance auditing, NAFDAC regulatory permit processing, CAPA investigation, and cross-functional clinical trial alignment.
