About this role
HRLeverage Africa—a pan-African workforce management and executive recruitment consulting firm—is recruiting a Business Development Manager on behalf of its client in the pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare technology sector, covering the Southwest Nigeria region (Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Edo States). Reporting to the Regional Commercial Director, this field-based sales leadership role is 80% field-focused, driving B2B client acquisition of community pharmacies, managing trade credit financing, and expanding pharmaceutical product distribution networks across Southwestern regional markets.
Key Responsibilities

Pharmacy Customer Acquisition & Onboarding: Map out retail pharmacy hubs across Ibadan, Osogbo, Akure, and Benin City; pitch B2B healthcare distribution offerings, and register new pharmacy accounts.

Account Management & Order Retention: Conduct structured field visits to retail pharmacies, drive repeat inventory reorders, monitor account health, and maintain high customer retention rates.

Trade Credit & Receivable Collections: Introduce pharmaceutical trade credit and lending options to pharmacy owners, monitor payment schedules, and support credit collection workflows for overdue accounts.

CRM Logging & Territory Reporting: Log daily field routes, client interaction records, order values, and sales funnels using mobile CRM platforms and field reporting applications.

Academic Credentials: Bachelor's Degree (B.Pharm / B.Sc.) + 3–5 years in B2B pharmaceutical field sales (2+ years in healthcare distribution).

Industry Network: Strong established relationships with retail pharmacy owners, superintendent pharmacists, and healthcare distributors across Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Edo States.

Software Toolstack: Mobile CRM applications, order tracking software, MS Excel analytics, and trade credit management platforms.

Core Competencies: B2B pharmaceutical sales, field territory mapping, trade credit risk management, payment collection follow-up, client relationship management, and multilingual negotiation (Yoruba/Pidgin).
