About the Role
ABNL Limited is a premier indigenous oil and gas servicing firm delivering professional engineering and technical services across Nigeria and West Africa. We are seeking a diligent Field Operator I to join our offshore team on the Yoho Platform in Akwa Ibom. In this role, you will operate surface equipment and wells according to strict safety guidelines, execute routine field equipment care, track production metrics, and support maintenance and wellwork intervention operations. The role is based on the Yoho Platform, Akwa Ibom (offshore, onsite, contract).
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate wells, pipelines, and platform equipment to fulfill daily production plans while safely mitigating operational failures
- Function as an Equipment Care Technician to execute basic predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities across assigned units
- Participate actively in daily toolbox talks, monitor alarm/shutdown systems, adhere to environmental and safety protocols, and assist in offshore emergency response routines
- Collect field samples for laboratory analysis, diagnose well-producing problems, and verify surface equipment readiness prior to handover for wellwork interventions
- Maintain comprehensive operational logbooks, document abnormal equipment events, and conduct detailed shift-change debriefs to ensure continuous unit operations
Requirements
- Minimum of a completed Secondary Education (SSCE/WAEC/NECO)
- Prior hands-on experience working as a Field Technician or Operator in offshore/onshore oil and gas facilities
- Core understanding of pipeline operations, safety management systems, emergency response protocols, and offshore project design specifications
- High commitment to Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SSHES) standards
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong diagnostic and technical reporting capabilities
