Role Overview
The client seeks experienced, result-driven professionals for Branch Manager openings (3 positions). The Branch Manager will drive business growth, profitability, operational excellence and market penetration in an assigned location, leading business development, managing branch operations, building sustainable distribution channels and driving customer acquisition, retention and service excellence, with a focus on inclusive insurance solutions for individuals, SMEs, cooperatives, associations and underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive branch sales performance to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual premium and policy targets.
- Develop and execute strategies for customer acquisition, market expansion and revenue growth, including cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
- Establish and manage partnerships with cooperatives, trade associations, aggregators, SMEs and community groups.
- Analyse market trends, customer needs and competitor activity to identify business opportunities and shape innovative microinsurance products.
- Lead, supervise, coach and motivate branch staff; set targets, run performance evaluations and coordinate staff capacity building.
- Mentor sales teams, distribution partners and agents to improve productivity and performance.
- Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring underwriting, policy administration and claims processes meet regulatory and company standards.
- Manage branch budgets, resources and operational expenses; prepare accurate financial, operational and performance reports.
- Build strong relationships with customers, partners, regulators and stakeholders, and resolve escalated complaints promptly.
- Ensure compliance with NAICOM regulations, internal policies, risk-management frameworks and high standards of corporate governance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
- Professional insurance certification such as ACIIN or ACII is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in insurance, microinsurance, banking or financial services.
- At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Proven track record in sales, business development, customer acquisition and revenue generation.
- Demonstrated team leadership and people management experience.
- Strong understanding of insurance operations, underwriting, claims management and regulatory requirements.
- Strong business development, analytical, negotiation, communication and financial/operational management skills, with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to work under pressure.
