About the Employer
Our client is a leading Nigerian fashion brand with over 25 years of industry experience, a nationwide network of 11 retail stores, and an in-house garment manufacturing operation.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a commercially driven Head of Category to develop and execute strategies that drive sales growth, profitability, market expansion, and category performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute annual commercial strategies and plans
- Drive sales growth, market expansion, and profitability across categories
- Manage the master commercial calendar spanning production, buying, marketing, VM, warehousing and distribution
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, pricing and OTB planning
- Monitor category performance and implement strategies to close performance gaps
- Partner with supply chain and operations to optimise inventory and product availability
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate commercial terms
- Lead, coach and develop the commercial team
- Conduct market and competitor analysis with strong awareness of children's fashion trends
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field
- Minimum 7 years' commercial management experience, preferably in fashion retail, FMCG or e-commerce
- Proven track record of driving business growth and profitability
- Strong knowledge of sales, marketing, pricing and revenue management
- Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills; SQL knowledge is an advantage
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Salary: NGN 1,000,000 - 1,100,000 per month.
